Site Warning: For those who move forward
This site is raw. This site is all about John and Jill’s journey into buying a home. What you’ll find is that our friends John and Jill aren’t that different then you likely. This site is informative and this site is meant to feel a lot different than the traditional realtor site. You’re going to gather insight into the real estate experience. Of course, I can’t give you everything here. So for those of you who peruse the site...
consider yourselves more prepared then the average Buyer for having found your way here!
Are you now, 50% better off…maybe? BTW, this site may just reflect something about the guy behind it, who worked hand in hand with John and Jill during the process and purchase. Buying a home is not rocket science. It is involved; requires knowledge and only the strong survive!
Let’s Begin from the Beginning.
Meet John and Jill
I barely had time to introduce myself when John went off. “Mike, this market makes no sense. Explain to us how this works. On the same street in the same area, a 40 ft lot with a detached home gets almost the same amount of money as a semi on a 25 ft lot? Wait….here’s a better one. 2 homes entertain offers on the same night a street apart and one house sells for 50k more than the other? Jill interrupts her husband and asks “A house is asking 799k and requesting all offers on day 7. On day 8 it’s relisted with a price tag of 849k? Or how about this…a house is listed and requesting offers on day 7 and on day 3 the house is sold firm and off the market? Our agent didn’t even have time to get us in to see it?”
These guys had seen a lot. They were frustrated. They wanted answers. I needed to convince them I was the “right” Agent for them…I’d have my work cut out…and then some. I was excited to show them that all agents are not built the same!
If you’re a prospective Buyer in the Toronto real estate market, John and Jill’s story may be familiar to you. This couple had been in and out of the market for a few years. Low interest rates, the desire to build equity; a good mortgage broker and gearing up to start a family were their driving forces to buy a house. With that, their timing seemed to always have them chasing the market. Pent up demand and low inventory resulted in a very tough market for John and Jill and their competition. But we’re not concerned with their competition. We need to give these guys, the “edge”.
